From March 1 through June 30, the park implements closures of certain Tomales Bay beaches and Drakes Estero to water-based recreation to protect harbor seals during the pupping season. Please avoid disturbing seals to ensure a successful pupping season. More »

Operational Changes Took Effect on May 1, 2013
The Lighthouse Visitor Center is now only open Fridays through Mondays; closed Tuesdays through Thursdays, including Thanksgiving. The Kenneth C. Patrick Visitor Center is open on weekends and holidays when shuttles are operating. More »
Photography Exhibit Reception and 25th Anniversary Celebration: "Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary a National Treasure, a Local Jewel"
Join NOAA's Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary staff on Saturday, May 10, from 1 pm to 5 pm, to celebrate 25 years of protecting this unique, offshore, underwater jewel off the coast of Point Reyes. Take a guided photo tour in the temporary exhibit at the Red Barn Classroom, talk with sanctuary staff, see a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) up close and personal, see underwater video footage of Cordell Bank, and enjoy some light appetizers and beverages. Families are welcome.
The photographs will be on display in the Red Barn Classroom daily from Wednesday, January 8, 2014, through Tuesday, June 3, 2014, but aside from on Saturday, May 10, 2014, the exhibit will be shown by appointment only.
To get to the Red Barn Classroom, follow the directions to Point Reyes National Seashore. As you proceed up the driveway toward the Bear Valley Visitor Center, turn left at the sign for the Red Barn Classroom.More »
