2014 Harbor Seal Pupping Season Closures
From March 1 through June 30, the park implements closures of certain Tomales Bay beaches and Drakes Estero to water-based recreation to protect harbor seals during the pupping season. Please avoid disturbing seals to ensure a successful pupping season. More »
Operational Changes Took Effect on May 1, 2013
The Lighthouse Visitor Center is now only open Fridays through Mondays; closed Tuesdays through Thursdays, including Thanksgiving. The Kenneth C. Patrick Visitor Center is open on weekends and holidays when shuttles are operating. More »
Point Reyes National Seashore, Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary, Tomales Bay and Samuel P. Taylor State Parks, and Point Reyes National Seashore Association cordially invites you to our 2013 Holiday Open House at the Bear Valley Visitor Center. Come meet park staff and other members of the community. Refreshments will be provided by the Point Reyes National Seashore Association.
Special Guests: Richard Blair and Kathleen P. Goodwin will be on site to sign their new book, Reyes of Light, which explores the Point Reyes Lighthouse, the National Seashore, and the surrounding community.
We will also be showing a clip of the new historical documentary, The San Agustin: A California Shipwreck, by George Thelen of Thelen Creative Services. The film explores maritime history and the first known California shipwreck, which was off Point Reyes near Drakes Beach.
