The 21st Annual Sand Sculpture Contest at Drakes Beach was a great success with over 50 sculptures entered. The event was well attended with hundreds of participants and observers. Once again, the weather was fabulous and a good day was had by all!

Bull elephant seal with harbor seals  

Did You Know?
Elephant seals (Mirounga angustirostris)are the largest pinniped with males reaching a maximum of about 5,000 lbs. Harbor seals (Phoca vitulina) are much smaller with both males and females reaching a maximum weight of around 250 lbs.
