The National Park Service has announced the availability of prospectus for a concession contract for operation of guided horse services in Point Reyes National Seashore. The concession operation is year-round and is located adjacent to the Five Brooks Trailhead in the Olema Valley in west Marin County.

The existing concession contract between the National Park Service and the existing concessionaire expires December 31, 2004. The Director, pursuant to Code of Federal Regulations Title 36, Park 51, has determined that the existing concessionaire is a preferred offer or for this contract because the annual gross receipts are less than $500,000. One contract will be issued for this commercial service and the length of the new contract will be for ten (10) years.

Any offer, including that of the existing concessionaire, must be received by the Chief of Concessions, National Park Service, Pacific West Region. 1111 Jackson St., Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607, no later than sixty days after the date of the publication of this notice in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract. The prospectus is effective August 16, 2004, for a 60-day response period, with proposals due on October 15, 2004, no later than 4 pm. A printing cost recovery charge of $50.00 per copy will be charged if the document is delivered via Federal Express, or $40.00 per copy if the document is picked up in person. Checks or money order (no cash) must be payable to the National Park Service; you must include a business address (no post office box) and telephone number for the package to be delivered via Federal Express. A prospectus package will be available by contacting Darby Watson, Pacific West Region Concessions, at the above address. Telephone inquiries may be directed to (515) 817-1365.
