2013 Harbor Seal Pupping Season Closures
From March 1 through June 30, the park implements closures of certain Tomales Bay beaches and Drakes Estero to water-based recreation to protect harbor seals during the pupping season. Please avoid disturbing seals to ensure a successful pupping season. More »
Prescribed Fire Scheduled for Friday, June 12, 1998

Point Reyes National Seashore will be conducting a controlled burn on a pile of wood at the historic E Ranch on Friday June 12. Personnel and equipment will convene at the burn site at 0830. This is a training burn, with the objective of practicing foam application with the two engines for exposure (structure) protection. It is expected that smoke will be generated until approximately noon. Fire personnel will remain on scene until the fire enters a smoldering phase, at which time patrols by National Park Service fire technicians will complete the process. -NPS- |
