POINT REYES, CALIFORNIA – Point Reyes National Seashore will be increasing hours and services to help visitors make the most of their summer. Beginning on Memorial Day Weekend and running through Labor Day Weekend, all park visitor centers will have extended days and hours of service.

  • The Bear Valley Visitor Center will be open from 10 am until 5 pm on weekdays and from 9 am to 5 pm on weekends and holidays. The Visitor Center will remain open an extra hour until 6 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, beginning on June 6.
  • The Point Reyes Lighthouse and Visitor Center will be open Thursday through Monday from 10 am until 4:30 pm. Visitors may tour the lens room between 2:30 and 4 pm, though high winds may close the stairs to the lighthouse.
  • The Kenneth C. Patrick Visitor Center at Drakes Beach will be open on weekends and holidays, from 10 am until 5pm.

Ranger-guided programs provide a deeper look at the park and are scheduled every day during the summer. Among the many choices, these programs include opportunities to walk along the San Andreas Fault, understand the importance of dairy and beef ranching at Point Reyes, explore one of the nation's most accessible wilderness areas, and experience the Lighthouse at sunset. Schedules of Ranger-led programs and special events will be posted on the park website at https://www.nps.gov/pore.
