Each spring, Point Reyes National Seashore seeks applicants for the summer Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) Program. Young men and women must be at least 15 years of age by the start of the YCC season (mid-June) but cannot turn 19 before the program ends (mid-August). They must also be permanent residents of the United States and have or be able to obtain a Social Security Card and work permit. Approximately twelve positions are available each summer.

Work projects will include removing downed trees, trail maintenance, and grounds maintenance. Work locations will vary from the historic Pierce Point Ranch to the heart of the Seashore's backcountry.

For summer 2014, the program will commence on Monday, June 16, 2014, and will terminate on Friday, August 8, 2014. Work hours are from 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The pay is $9 per hour. Employees are responsible for their own transportation to and from the Seashore Headquarters area. No government housing is available.

Applications are usually due in late April of each year, and selection and notification are usually made a week or so later.

Due to the short 8-week program we require all enrollees be available and work the entire program. Vacations should be planned before or after the program dates.
