Volunteer: Lighthouse Volunteer Corps

Thank you for your interest. This program is currently full. Please consider other volunteer opportunities at Point Reyes National Seashore.

The National Park Service is establishing a Lighthouse Volunteer Corps at Point Reyes National Seashore to assist with the maintenance of the Point Reyes Lighthouse lens and clockworks.

Activities would include following an established maintenance plan to rotate the 1870 First Order Fresnel lens, clean glass and polish brass, lubricate clockworks, and inspect and clean the lens mechanism and lens room areas. Knowledge of lens mechanics is desired, and an orientation and training session will be required.

You must be able to climb the steep 300-step stairway from the Lighthouse to the Visitor Center.
