Reservations for Ranger-led Education Programs for the 2009-2010 school year are almost full. As of September 1, we are not accepting reservation forms. Please call Mary Beth Shenton at 415-464-5139 to discuss the few remaining openings.

Class size is limited to 30.

Programs are offered from 9/8/2009 - 5/21/2010


Ranger-led programs are not offered on Mondays or on federal holidays.

Tule Elk  

Did You Know?
In the mid-1800s, the tule elk was hunted to the brink of extinction. The last surviving tule elk were discovered and protected in the southern San Joaquin Valley in 1874. In 1978, ten tule elk were reintroduced to Point Reyes, which now has one of California's largest populations, numbering ~500.
