An enterprise of many partners, the evolving Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail network celebrates the heritage of the Potomac and upper Ohio river basins and offers opportunities for hiking, bicycling, boating, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing.  National Park Service Passport Stamps for the Trail are available at the following locations:

 

• Fort Pitt Museum within Point State Park (Pittsburgh, PA)

• the visitor center for West Newton, PA

• Laurel Ridge State Park Office near Rockwood, PA

• Ohiopyle State Park Visitor Center in Ohiopyle, PA

• the visitor center for Meyersdale, PA

• visitor centers managed by Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., and at Great Falls, Williamsport, Hancock and Cumberland, MD

Battleground National Cemetery  

Did You Know?
Battleground National Cemetery is aptly named. The cemetery grounds were part of the battlefield when Confederate troops under the command of Gen. Jubal Early attacked Washington, D.C. on July 11 – 12, 1864.
