Fredonia, AZ –Pipe Spring National Monument will be hosting another evening bat program on Wednesday, July 10, at 7:30 pm AZ (8:30 UT). Whether you are fascinated with, merely curious, or scared to death of bats, you're invited to spend the evening getting a close up view of these amazing creatures of the night.

The water of Pipe Spring has been important not only for humans, but also the myriad of animal species on the Arizona Strip. Pipe Spring has at least 15 different species of bats alone. The monument has been monitoring the bat population for over 10 years. Monitoring efforts include using the latest technology to analyze bat sonar – this tells us what species we have - as well as periodic trapping to identify males, females, adults, juveniles, and check on general health.

So join us on July 10 at 7:30 pm AZ(8:30 UT). Bring a lawn chair, flashlight, bug spray, and water to drink. Come out early (6:30pm AZ, 7:30pm UT) and visit the Pipe Spring National Monument Visitor Center and Museum.

Regular entrance fees will apply - $5.00 per person 16 and older (younger are free). Interagency Annual, Senior, and Access passes are accepted and sold at Pipe Spring. Pipe Spring National Monument is 15 miles west of Fredonia, AZ on AZ 389, or 45 miles east of Hurricane, UT on UT 59 and AZ 389.
