Special evening program will feature Devils Tower National Park
On Tuesday evening, August 11 at 7:30 p.m., Dorothy FireCloud will present a special program on Devils Tower National Park.
This special program, Part 4 in a series of special summer park events at Pipestone National Monument, will feature the movie “In Light of Reverence” on Mato Tipi (Bear’s Lodge).
Ms. FireCloud, an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, is the first Native American to hold the position of Park Superintendent of Devils Tower. Devils Tower was the first National Monument created under the Antiquities Act of 1906 by President Theodore Roosevelt. It is considered a sacred site by many American Indians.
The program will be held at the Pipestone National Monument Visitor Center. Visitors are reminded that park entrance fees are required to participate at each of the special events.
