The Peirce Mill and Estate
Peirce Mill was built in the 1820's, and operated commercially until 1897. The United States Government acquired the mill as part of Rock Creek in 1892. Peirce Mill has recently been refurbished and operates on special occasions. Peirce Mill is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Did You Know?
After the federal government purchased the Peirce Estate in 1890, The Peirce family was allowed to continue operation of the mill. In 1897, after 77 years of operation, the main drive shaft of the mill broke and the Peirce family abandoned the mill altogether.
