GET INVOLVED WITH EARTH DAY AT PERRY’S VICTORY & INTERNATIONAL PEACE MEMORIAL
Celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Earth Day on Saturday, April 21, at Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial by getting up close and personal with native snakes, attending a Junior Ranger Jamboree, creating a watershed model and invasive species art, or taking part in the ranger's field games. All activities are free to the public.

Brig Niagara sails between the British line.

Commodore Perry, aboard the Niagara, won the first US Navy fleet action and captured an entire British squadron. Perry reported "Dear General (Harrison): We have met the enemy and they are ours. Two ships, two brigs, one schooner and one sloop. Yours with great respect and esteem, O.H. Perry".
