Petersburg National Battlefield
Equestrian Lot Temporarily Moving

All road work being performed at Petersburg National Battlefield by the Federal Highways Administration has been completed and the Equestrian Parking Lot behind the Park Headquarters building is open for equestrian visitors.

A new parking lot and trailhead for non-equestrian visitors is now open. The lot is located on the left hand side approximately 0.3 miles down Hickory Hill Rd. from the County Drive intersection. For Google Maps use the address: 1433 Hickory Hill Rd., Petersburg, VA 23803. Unfortunately, MapQuest does not show the location of the lot.

All visitors to the park must posses a valid park pass.

Bobcat

Did You Know?
Bobcats are rarely seen residents of Petersburg National Battlefield's Five Forks Unit. Averaging in size to twice that of the common house cat, Bobcats enjoy the widest North American habitat range of any wildcat. At Five Forks their diet consists mainly of mice, squirrels, and other small prey.
