Research Resources
Petersburg National Battlefield contains numerous research materials as well as access to several databases for genealogical research. Items include: Historical Documents, photographs, diaries, letters and other materials. These materials, while not available for outside loan, can be researched at the battlefield once our research room is completed and open to the public. Our holdings are currently being digitized and cataloged. Requests for copies of materials already digitized can be submitted through our Education Specialist. Please allow ample time for materials to be processed. When making genealogical requests, please have as much information as possible. The more information you can provide, the more likely we are to be able to fill your request.
