Pea Ridge National Military Park is happy to help educate children about the natural, historical, and cultural aspects of the park. 

Stop by the Visitor Center to ask staff for a park-related educational activity packet, which includes a scavenger hunt, a maze, a crossword puzzle, word searches, and other fun things. Kids can complete activites in the packet and become a Junior Ranger.

We also offer a Hike Through History, typically completed by the Boy Scouts of America, but appropriate for any historically inquisitive hiker.

Elkhorn Tavern

Did You Know?
The Elkhorn Tavern was a place of worship until 1862, until the congregation moved to a new location 3 miles northwest of the tavern because of the noisy parties and dances the federals held in the building during their occupation.
