Petrified Series

Ancient river, flowed
Once through galleries of trees,
Now wind-carved stone.

Trees tall enough to
Scrape Triassic sky, now mute:
Silicate remnants.

Sleek, shining, river
Hunter, crocodilian,
Silent bones in stone.

Pleistocene sand dune,
Wind's caress reveals Clovis clue:
Petrified wood point.
