Housing for Artists in Residence
pink toned stucco buildings with flat roofs

NPS/T. Scott Williams

The cabins at Painted Desert Inn overlook the Painted Desert.

The cabins at Painted Desert Inn are the primary housing for participants in the Artist in Residence program. These historic structures were built as part of 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps construction project at Painted Desert Inn. Though small in size, the cabins offer phenomenal panoramas of the Painted Desert and unobstructed night sky viewing.
