While in the park in late April, Fred Hirschmann focused his large format camera on many of the scenic landscapes throughout the park.

Artist Statement

Petrified Forest National Park is one of my favorite places in Arizona. A myriad of exquisite landforms and designs greets my eye whenever I’m exploring in the park. From tiny details of quartz crystal vugs in petrified wood to grand landscapes formed by Chinle Formation badlands, the park provides unlimited opportunities to take photographs.
