As partnership work proliferates, both the National Park Service and its partners have been defining partnership duties,
roles and responsibilities in position descriptions and performance standards. This section includes a sampling of such
position descriptions. The sampling is offered to provide you with a point of reference to adapt and custom-tailor for
key partnership management positions at various levels.
Note that while some jobs are dedicated full time for partnership work, others represent a combination of partnership work
and related activities, such as public information and permit management.
It's always essential that the position description properly describes and fits the duties, knowledge skills, abilities
and complexities of a specific job.
Regarding performance standards, you can anticipate a growing emphasis on performance management results and reporting -
all the more reason for staff and managers to be clear on performance measures.
You can see from this sampling that some position descriptions have been adapted from others.
