  1. News

    • The revised draft DO #21 has been released and notice of availability was published in the Federal Register. It will be available for a 60 day review, closing on December 5.
    • DO #21 includes policy on vetting donations, fundraising, corporate marketing and donor recognition. Overall the goal of the revision is to clarify our donation and fundraising policies in a way that maintains the integrity of our parks, the impartiality of the NPS, and public confidence in what we do.
    • A Reference Guide is included in the revised draft DO #21.
    • The NLC has been notified of the availability of the draft DO. It will be presented to a wide range of friends groups at the upcoming Friends Alliance meeting in Gettysburg and will be the subject of in-depth discussion at the upcoming Partnership Council meeting.
    • We welcomed Dan Reeder, new Director of Tourism. Dan will be developing a strategic plan for tourism of the National Park Service. He will attend the upcoming Partnership Council meeting.

  2. NPS Advisory Board-Philanthropy Committee update

    • NPS staff support for the Philanthropy Committee is being headed by John Debo. Will switch to Dan Wenk.
    • A work plan is being developed.
    • LaJuana Wilcher from the Advisory Board will be the chair of the committee.

  3. Partnership Council Meeting

    • Please send an e-mail to John Piltzecker whether or not you will be attending the PC Meeting in Omaha, NE.
    • Ellen Cull will facilitate the meeting.
    • Meeting for PC Subcommittees can be held on Tuesday evening or lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday.

  4. Other Business

    • Tom Ross, Sam Stokes, and Warren Brown are retiring. We wish them well in their new adventures.
