FLORISSANT FOSSIL BEDS NATIONAL MONUMENT

The Florissant fossil beds are located at an elevation of 2,500-2,600 meters in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The modern Montane valley at Florissant is a sharp contrast with the warmer environment that once existed here.
