FLORISSANT FOSSIL BEDS NATIONAL MONUMENT

This ancient fossil wasp reveals a species that lived 34 million years ago. Its’ imprint is delicately preserved in paper-thin lake shale. This particular specimen serves as the logo for Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument.
