Getting Here

Palo Alto Battlefield is located on the north side of Brownsville, TX, near the city of Los Fresnos, TX. The park lies at the northeast corner of the intersection of FM 1847/Paredes Line Rd. and FM 511/FM 550.

By Car

The park is approximately five miles north of downtown Brownsville, TX.

From US Highway 77/83

  • From Rt. 77/83 take the FM 511 exit and turn left onto FM 511/FM 550.
  • Drive east approximately two miles to reach FM 1847.
  • Stay on the right hand lane as you approach FM 1847 to avoid the toll road overpass.
  • Turn left onto FM 1847/Paredes Line Rd.
  • The park entrance will be on the right, about 600 feet from the historical marker on the corner.
From Brownsville

  • Travel north on FM 1847/Paredes Line Rd. towards Los Fresnos, TX.
  • Stay on FM 1847/Paredes Line Rd. past the FM 511/FM 550 intersection
  • The park entrance will be on the right, about 600 feet from the historical marker on the corner.
