Van Buren, MO- Beginning Monday, March 4 through 5:00 pm on Thursday, May 23, 2013, the Big Spring Campground will be undergoing a paving and culvert repair project. The venture requires the closing of the campground for visitor safety.  Currently, the campground is open until the project begins. Access to the lodge, cabins and boat ramps will not be affected. Access to the spring may be affected temporarily.

Paving and culvert roadwork is accomplished while temperatures are warm enough to insure the success of the project. The job will restore existing paved roadway surfaces in the Big Spring Campground and replace the roadway culvert severely damaged during the 2011 floods.    Campsites can still be reserved for future dates throughout the roadway work. Call 1-877-444-6777 to make your reservations through Reserve America.

For more information, phone (573) 323-4236 Monday through Friday during business hours or visit the park's website at www.nps.gov/ozar.  Ozark National Scenic Riverways preserves the free-flowing Current and Jacks Fork Rivers, the surrounding natural resources, and the unique cultural heritage of the Ozark people.
