Fire education programs are an important key to informing and educating park visitors, employees, agency partners, and the public about wildland fire, prescribed fire, and the fire management program at Ozark Riverways. The park is available to provide educational and informational programs and lessons on a variety of topics related to wildland fire. Program options include, but are not limited to:

  • Science lessons on how fire benefits our plants and animals
  • Careers in wildland fire management
  • Why and how we do prescribed burns
  • Suppressing wildfires
  • Smokey Bear lessons
  • Fire prevention
  • Junior Firefighter activities and badges for kids
