Shannon County Home to Be Shown at Timbercreek Cinema

Ozark National Scenic Riverways has partnered with Timbercreek Cinema in Mountain View, Missouri for a FREE showing of the documentary film Shannon County Home.The film about Shannon County, Missouri was produced in the 1970s and highlights the unique places and people of the county 40 years ago.Film viewers can note the changes that have occurred in that 40 years to the landscapes, activities, and the people.Traditions such as gigging, dog running, religious revivals, and other aspects of Ozark cultural that are slowly disappearing are featured.

Shannon County Homewill be shown on Sunday, October 20th at 7:00 p.m. as part of Timbercreek Cinema's FREE Sunday movie series. Other upcoming Sunday movies include The African Queen and Gone With the Wind.There is no charge for seeing this documentary and everyone is invited.Popcorn and other concession items will be available.
