Firearms

As of February 22, 2010, a new federal law allows people who can legally possess firearms under applicable federal, state, and local laws, to legally possess firearms in the National Park Service administered areas that this trail crosses.

It is the responsibility of visitors to understand and comply with all applicable state, local, and federal firearms laws before entering these affected park areas. The Official Trail Marker for the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail

Official Trail Logo

The official trail marker insignia, or official trail logo, for the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail may be used to mark officially designated Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail sites, route segments, on publications and other materials, and for other official uses.

Official Logo Use
The National Park Service encourages the appropriate use of the logo by designated Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail management entities and partners. However, the trail logo is a protected federal insignia under 18 U.S.C. § 701 and is a federally-owned trademark either under common law or 15 U.S.C. §§ 1051-1129. The trail logo cannot be used without the permission of the Superintendent, Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail, National Park Service. For permission to use the logo, please contact us.
