Staffed by employees who are not law enforcement officers, the Office of Public Trust partners with the National Park Service’s three law enforcement programs—law enforcement park rangers, US Park Police, and NPS special agents—to ensure transparency and cooperation with all communities NPS serves. The office also serves as the primary point of contact for stakeholders seeking information about National Park Service law enforcement matters through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
