Maintenance Job Description

Trail Maintenance and Repair - typically only applies to volunteers

Prevent trail deterioration by volunteering to help maintain and repair trails on the monument. These improvements can be done with hand tools. Expect sweat and gratitude as you upkeep the trails by blocking and revegetating shortcut paths, remove tripping hazards, and helping with other general improvements of the trails.

This type of volunteer work is great for groups.

Did You Know?

Horse riders rode about 12 miles to Cave Camp located next to the entrance of Oregon Caves.

Up until 1922 the only way to get to Oregon Caves was on a 12 mile trail from the town of Williams, Oregon. Once at Oregon Caves visitors explored the cave and spent the night at a camp outside the entrance to the cave.
