General Location: 8 miles south of Lake Sutherland about 3.5 miles beyond Olympic Hot Springs.

Description

Ecosystem type: Subalpine lake basin 
Trail tread types: Well maintained 

General elevation trend: Moderate 

River crossings: None 

Unique features: Lake contains exotic trout. Fishing is allowed. Check regulations.
Level of difficulty: Moderate

Distance: 5.3 miles to the lake

Elevation change: 1200 ft. to 4350 ft.

Best Season: May through late September

Camping

Permits/Reservations: Obtain permits at WIC in Port Angeles. No reservations necessary.
Food Storage Method: A community bear wire is available at Boulder Lake.
Location and sites: 12 sites are available at Boulder Lake. 

Toilet Facilities:  Pit toilet 

Water Source: Many water sources are available. Always boil, filter or chemically treat your drinking water to prevent getting Giardia. 

Stock: Allowed. Day use only. See stock regulations.

Special Concerns
Leave No Trace: Leave No Trace of your stay to protect vegetation and prevent further camping regulations. Camp in preexisting sites.
Fires: To protect sensitive vegetation, campfires are not allowed at Boulder Lake. Fires are allowed below 3,500 feet. 

Respect Wildlife: To protect raccoons, bears and other wildlife, a
ll food, garbage and scented items must be secured from all wildlife 24 hours a day.
Safety

Safety: Several bear incidents have occurred in the park due to visitors improperly storing their food. Please use proper food storage techniques.
