Parking in Georgetown can be a challenge. Most streets have boxes the dispense permits for up to two hours (look for the green boxes with a P). Parking on residential streets are limited to 2 hours unless you have a Georgetown resident permit. There are numerous commercial parking garages throughout Georgetown and are generally easier to use than street parking.

Parking is not allowed on M Street during rush hour (4:00PM to 6:30PM).

The streets in Georgetown are very narrow and can be difficult to navigate with large vehicles.
