Picture of reconstructed council chamber at Ocmulgee National Monument

Did You Know?
THE EARTH LODGE - At Ocmulgee National Monument you can enter a reconstructed council chamber of the Mississippian people. This building contains the original 1000 year old floor. A circle of seats and the symbolic bird effigy exemplify political and spiritual ideas of these people from the past.
