The park has alligators and venomous snakes.

PLEASE CARRY WATER WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES! Macon temperatures can reach above 100 degrees in the summer months.

Dogs must be on a leash. They are not allowed in the visitor center unless they are a service animal.

Park closes at 5:00 PM daily.

DO NOT climb on mounds!

The average hiking trail is 1 mile; the park has 8 miles of trails.

Bikes are only allowed on the park road, Heritage trail, and River Trail.

Picnics are allowed only in the picnic area.

No swimming allowed in the Ocmulgee River; we have alligators in the river.

No drones/unmanned aircraft are allowed in the park. Detailed information about the policy is available.

Please don't leave any valuables in your vehicle.
