A public scoping meeting will be held on Thursday April 19, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm at the Visitor Center. The meeting will consist of an open house with a short presentation at 5:30pm. NPS staff will be on hand to visit you and answer your questions

Wetlands area at Ocmulgee National Monument

An 800 ft. boardwalk lets you visit the emergent wetlands at Ocmulgee National Monument.  This 10 year old wetlands was created as a result of a massive flood in July 1994.  The changes in the landscape from hardwood forest to emergent wetlands is an example of natures sucessional cycles.
