Kids of all ages can learn lessons on the importance of volunteering to preserve the Obed.

Volunteering at the Obed Wild and Scenic River can be a unique experience. Because the river stretches out for 45 miles, clean-up efforts by park personnel are always a challenge. Every May, the Obed participates in National River Clean-up Day, which gives many of our local neighbors a chance to help their park. A similar opportunity occurs again each September, when the Obed participates in National Public Lands Day. On September 26, 2009, a National Day of Service will be held at the Obed Wild and Scenic River to promote volunteerism at our park. Please click on our Schedule of Events link to find out more about these events.  One need not wait until those special days to help clean up our park, however. The Obed Wild and Scenic River is always looking for willing volunteers to help clean up the river site and its boundaries on any day of the year.

Please contact the park at 423-346-6294 to find out how you can be a park volunteer.
