Leave No Trace
The Leave No Trace program promotes the preservation of natural, cultural, and historical resources. The Leave No Trace program represents a continuing effort to educate the public about an outdoor ethic. Promoting the preservation and conservation of our American wilderness is the backbone of this ethic. It also represents a very important goal of the National Park Service...awareness, appreciation and respect for the natural, cultural, and historic treasures for all citizens to enjoy, both for us and for future generations. Leave No Trace promotes responsible outdoor recreation and minimal impact upon the environment. Enjoying the outdoors and leaving it intact is the hallmark of the Leave No Trace program.
