WARTBURG, Tennessee:Come to the Obed Wild and Scenic River Visitor Center, on September 22, 2012 starting at noon, for a look back into the traditions of the Native American People of the East Tennessee area. The Obed Wild and Scenic River has invited Standing Oak and Sparrow Hawk to come out and show us how the ways of life for the Native American Peoples have changed over the years.During the talk and demonstration, everyone will have the opportunity to come and enjoy an in-depth presentation on Native American day-to-day life.

Did you know that when Native Americans first came across the Obed, they realized that the ground was too steep for settlement and too rough for farming? They did, however, rely on the Obed for hunting, and used the bluffs for shelter.
