In celebration of the National Park Service's 96th birthday, the Obed Wild and Scenic River will be hosting an Art in the Park Reception on Saturday, August 25 at the Visitor Center at 208 N. Maiden Street in Wartburg, Tennessee. The reception will start at 5 pm (Eastern Time) that evening.  

The event will include art activities for kids and a display of photographs from the recent Obed Photography Contest. During the evening the contest's winning entries will be revealed.  The Shelter Road Band will be providing a range of Americana, rock and country music as light refreshments are served.   David Brill will also be in attendance to sign his book, "Cumberland Odyssey", which will be available for purchase that evening.

Did you know that the Obed Wild and Scenic River is one of seven designated National Park Service sites located in Tennessee? Many visitors from the central part of the Volunteer State stop in at the Stones River National Battlefield in Murfreesboro before making their way east to visit the Obed.
