Annual Obed River Clean-Up Day

WARTBURG, Tennessee: The Annual Obed River Clean Up will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014. The morning will start at 8:30 a.m. (Eastern Time) by signing up at the Obed Visitor Center at 208 N. Maiden St., Wartburg, Tennessee. Clean up sites are located along Clear Creek and Obed River. Volunteers are asked to bring water, insect repellent and sun block and wear sturdy shoes. Anyone who has volunteered at Obed Wild and Scenic River during the past year and participants of this event are invited to return to the Obed Visitor Center around 12:30 p.m. for a volunteer appreciation lunch. Burgers, veggie burgers, chips, cookies and lemonade will be provided, and everyone is welcome to bring a dish to share. Call the park at (423) 346-6294 for additional information.
