The Obed Wild and Scenic River will host Coffee with a Ranger and Climb with a Ranger on Saturday morning, June 6. First, the public is encouraged to bring any questions and join National Park Service rangers for a free cup of coffee at Lilly Bridge from 10 to 10:30 a.m. (ET). Then, beginning at Lilly Bridge at 11 a.m., rangers will be leading another Climb with a Ranger program.

The Climb with a Ranger program is an excellent introduction to rock climbing for individuals who have always wanted to try the activity but who did not know where to begin. All necessary gear is provided. Participants are encouraged to bring drinking water, sturdy footwear, a willingness to try new things and a can-do attitude. Depending on interests and ability levels, participants will travel with rangers to one of several different climbing areas around the park. Participants will be back to their vehicles by approximately 3 p.m. Would-be rock climbers of all ages are encouraged to attend. These programs will be held regardless of weather conditions.

Participants are welcome to attend one program or both. No reservations are necessary for these free events. For more information, please contact the Obed Wild and Scenic River at (423) 346-6294.
