The Obed Wild and Scenic River is a fun place for kids to explore. It's also a great place to learn about the river, plants and animals, and the beautiful sandstone bluffs that stand on each side of the river. The park's visitor center, located at 208 North Maiden Street in downtown Wartburg, Tennessee, is also a great place to view a slideshow of the park, collect park brochures, and check out our exhibits. This page will include links to different activities for kids. We will also be presenting information on different events that the park offers throughout the year. Please check back to this page from time to time to see what new things are happening at the Obed Wild and Scenic River!
Did You Know?
Did you know that when Native Americans first came across the Obed, they realized that the ground was too steep for settlement and too rough for farming? They did, however, rely on the Obed for hunting, and used the bluffs for shelter.
