Architect Antonin Nechodoma designed the 2-story Casa Roig for Antonio Roig. Influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, Nechodoma adapted Wright's style in the building design. The T-shaped house constructed in 1920 has strong horizontal features and wide, projecting cornices. Nechodoma produced many buildings for Puerto Rico's and the Dominican Republic's wealthy before his untimely death in a 1928 auto accident. Today, his works stand up to comparisons with contemporary European and American architecture of the period. In 1984 the University of Puerto Rico at Humacao restored Casa Roig, one of Nechodoma's few surviving buildings, and opened it as a Regional Museum.

Casa Roig is located on Antonio Lopez 66, in Humacao, Puerto Rico. The museum, exhibiting cultural artifacts, is open 10:00am to 4:00pm, Wednesday-Sunday. For further information, call 787-852-8380 or visit the museum's website (in Spanish).
