2010 National Parks of New York Harbor Youth Intern Program (YIP)

Already have experience through the Youth Conservation Corps? Step up to the next challenge! The Youth Intern Program offers high school juniors and seniors who have previously participated in the NPNH YCC Program ten weeks of work experience, education, leadership and environmental-based training June 29 through September 3, 2010. 

  • GS-2 pay salary based on five days (40 hour) per week. 
  • Interns are placed throughout the National Parks of NY Harbor sites, including; Gateway NRA, African Burial Ground NM, Manhattan Sites, Governors Island NM, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. 
  • Training will include overnight and day trips, team building exercises, kayaking, sailing, leadership activities, digital media training, and public speaking.
  • Students will wear official National Park Service Uniforms. 
  • Interns will work with various divisions and disciplines within the parks including: Interpretation, Resource Management, Visitor Services, Maintenance, and Cultural Resources.
