Stehekin Programs Schedule

The interpretive staff at North Cascades National Park present a wide variety of programs. Enhance your Stehekin experience by participating in one or several National Park Service Ranger programs. Topics and presenters vary. Please check at the Golden West Visitor Center for more details.

NATURALIST TALKS (20 minutes)
Enjoy a short talk featuring special natural or cultural history topics. Great educational opportunity during your layover in Stehekin!

EVENING PROGRAMS  (1 hour)
Evening programs on a multitude of topics will provoke and inspire you.

Fridays and Saturdays only September 7th - 30th.

BUCKNER ORCHARD WALK
 (1 hour)
Tour the historic Buckner Orchard by foot, and enjoy lunch in this peaceful setting. Reach the Orchard by traveling 7 miles round-trip by bicycle with a Ranger or take the Stehekin Shuttle. Program is free, bike rental not included. Meet at the old School at 11:30am. Saturday and Sunday, July - August

IMUS CREEK TRAIL WALK
 (2 hours)
Take in the beauty of the surrounding mountains, streams, and forest while you learn about the area's natural and cultural history from an NPS naturalist. Be prepared for at least a mile hike with a moderate grade. Wear sturdy footware, dress for the weather, and bring water and a snack.
Thursdays - Sundays, June 14 - September 2

JUNIOR RANGER ACTIVITY
(2 hours)
Childern 5-12 years of age can uncover the secrets of this special place through hands-on exploration, crafts and learning activities. Become a Junior Ranger!
Saturdays, June 23 - September 1

GOLDEN WEST GALLERY SHOW
(inside the Golden West Visitor Center)
View artwork produced by artisans and craftspeople inspired by the North Cascades. See area bulletin boards for current exhibition description and a schedule of gallery events.
