Golden West Visitor Center
A steep path from the Landing leads to the Visitor Center2 stars. People in wheelchairs may need assistance. Inside are restrooms, interactive exhibits covering a broad range of topics, a 3-dimensional relief map and other touchable objects, the Golden West Gallery displaying artwork related to this special place, and a ten minute wilderness slide show. Closed captioning for the slide show is available upon request. A courtesy wheelchair is available with advanced request. The Visitor Center is open from mid-March to mid-October. Contact the Golden West Visitor Center for current hours and open status.

Cascading stream

The North Cascades are well known for the abundant waterfalls that lace the mountains. Two of the best known waterfalls are Gorge Falls between Newhalem and Diablo along State Route 20 and Rainbow Falls in the Stehekin Valley.
