The Goodell Creek Campground will be closed June 16 through July 2 to accommodate paving projects to address cracking and slumping within the asphalt road and parking areas. During this time, deteriorated asphalt will be removed and contractors will lay new asphalt. Access to the Goodell Creek raft launch and picnic shelter will be maintained but the toilets will not be accessible. Nearby Newhalem Creek Campground is open and available as an alternative. Reservations are available for sites in one loop of the Newhalem Creek Campground and can be obtained at www.recreation.gov. Sites in the other two loops of the Newhalem Creek Campground are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

The North Loop of the Colonial Creek Campground is currently closed to accommodate paving projects. This work is highly weather-dependent, but is estimated to be completed – and the North Loop is estimated to reopen – during the week of June 23. After the North Loop reopens, the South Loop of the Colonial Creek Campground, the main parking area, and the boat launch will experience temporary closures to accommodate paving projects. These temporary closures are planned for the week of June 23, but the scheduling of this work is also highly weather-dependent.

Sites in the Colonial Creek Campground are available on a first-come-first-served basis. More information on car camping in the park is available at www.nps.gov/noca/planyourvisit/car-camping.htm.
