River Cleanups
Each year two river clean-ups are offered:one in the spring and one in the fall. The annual Spring River Clean-up is sponsored by the and is held in May. This event involves the opportunity to drive, walk along or float the river and gather litter from the banks or water surface. A BBQ follows the clean-up. In the fall the Niobrara River Outfitters Association sponsors a Fall River Clean-up and holds a potluck afterwards.
Other annual events include March for the Parks, National Parks Week events and a National Public Lands Day event. Please contact the Valentine Ranger Station for additional information if you are interested in attending an event or helping out.
