West Virginia Industrial Heritage

Program Description
Students will learn about the railroad, lumber, and coal mining industries of West Virginia between 1870 and 1930 and their importance in fueling the economy of West Virginia and the United States during the American Industrial Revolution. Hands-on activities and historic tools will help students explore this part of West Virginia cultural heritage.

Available to schools in:Greenbrier, Monroe, Raleigh & Summers counties

Grade Level: 5th 

Program Length: 1 hour
